The Pelikan Souverän 805 is one of Pelikan's most iconic products. With its beautiful deep black components and rich antracite tones, this fountain pen exudes pure elegance. The striped pattern of the holder, made of cellulose acetate, immediately catches your eye. And the gold decorations contributes to the luxurious appearance. Each one is assembled by hand and carefully checked. That is the quality you expect from Pelikan and ensures that every Souverän 800 fountain pen is not only beautiful, but also durable and reliable.
The foreign minister of the Weimar Republic, Gustav Stresemann (1879-1929), was honored with the Nobel Peace Prize in 1926: Together with his French colleague Aristide Briand, for their mediation work between the countries after World War I. In addition to his impressive political career, Stresemann also became famous for the creation of a new kind of suit that was still formal enough for official presentations yet comfortable enough for his office work. Stresemann likes to wear thin striped suits... and suddenly people started calling the striped fountain pens from Pelikan - which were just then world famous - also called "Stresemann". Both the costumes and the pens still bear the same name. To officially honor this legend, Pelikan has now given this name to the latest addition to the collection, the Souverän with elegant stripes in anthracite, the "Stresemann".
