The work Wheatfield Under Thunderclouds dates from 1890 and
Van Gogh painted a number of landscapes with wheat fields in an unusual, elongated format. In a letter to his brother Theo he wrote about these canvases: 'They are vast expanses of wheat fields under fierce skies and I have deliberately tried to express sadness, extreme loneliness in them'.
This Visconti Van Gogh series is made from natural resin uniquely blended to represent palettes of oil paints and is inspired by the artist's color and technique. As a result, each fountain pen has its own unique color palette. The Visconti fountain pen has the well-known eighteen facets, where the many edges enhance the vibrant colours.
